Circular Ramble Hindenburgplatz - Peiffer Fountain - Hindenburgplatz

Length 7.5 km, duration: approx. 2.5 hours, marking: yellow triangle with circle, degree of difficulty: intermediate 757)

The circular ramble starts at Hindenburgplatz (near the tourist information office). Continue along Parkstrasse. Past Hedwigstrasse and Höhenweg (on the left-hand side), turn off left. Now keep to the right in the direction of the holiday park. Turn off left on to Hahnenkleerbergstrasse and shortly afterwards right again in the direction of Pfeiffer Fountain. You will reach Pfeiffer Fountain having walked 1.4 km. From there, continue on your right and you will come to Tetschwasserstrasse which will bring you, after 1.9 km, to Head Forester H. Müller Monument. Now continue along Hexenbankweg until, after 2.6 km, you reach Pochwerkplatz. From Pochwerkplatz please follow the route markings of the Harz Club (yellow triangle with circle), which will bring you to Emmas-Ruh-Weg. After crossing the road, you will be in the pedestrian precinct (Rathausstrasse). If you now turn off right, you will reach the end of the pedestrian precinct and you will already see the Sparkasse (savings bank) from afar. Go up to the savings bank and turn off left there on to Hindenburgstrasse. Hindenburgstrasse will bring you back to your starting point, Hindenburgplatz.

Circular Ramble Gustav Adolf Stave Church - Bocksberg Mountain - Stave Church

The starting point for the circular ramble is Gustav Adolf Stave Church. From here, take Prof.-Mohrmann-Weg, then Märchenweg, which will bring you to Bockswiese. When you arrive on Jägerstieg in Bockswiese, keep to the left and turn left again at the corner of Wiesenstrasse in the direction of Waldheimat. You now go directly along the southern slope of Bocksberg Mountain to Schalker Grabenweg. Once you have reached the Upper Grumbacher Pond, take the right-hand route and keep right again at the end of the pond. Along the Grumbacher Ponds the route takes you into the Upper Grumbach Valley, which will bring you back to Bockswiese. Once you have reached Bockswiese, you are on Grabenweg where you continue until the corner with Wiesenstrasse. Here you now turn off right and after 50 metres will reach the Assembly Rooms. There you can admire the historic waterwheel and relax at the idyllic pond of the resort park. Later return to Wiesenstrasse. Follow Wiesenstrasse until you have returned to Jägerstieg. Now you return via Märchenweg to Hahnenklee to your starting point at Gustav Adolf Stave Church.

Circular Ramble Rathausstrasse - Head Forester Hermann Müller Monument - Holiday Park - Assembly Rooms

The starting point for the circular ramble is the pedestrian precinct (Rathausstrasse). Follow Rathausstrasse until Oberförster-Hermann-Müller-Weg. This road leads you on to Langeliether Grabenweg. Keep to the right at a fork in the road and, having walked 2.2 km, you will reach the Head Forester Hermann Müller Monument. After a turn to the left, the route continues with a steady slight incline on to Hahnenkleerbergstrasse. Past the holiday park, having already walked 4.3 km, you now reach Gottlob Refuge. Follow the route, which continues slightly downhill, until the next fork on to Gottlob. Keep to the left here and turn on to Fuckelweg, which a short time later becomes Lautenthaler Strasse. Having walked a total distance of 6.0 km, you arrive at the Assembly Rooms and thus at the end of your ramble. Cafe Baronesse is the ideal spot to end your day out in the fresh air.

Circular Ramble Bocksberg Mountain - Auerhahn - Bocksberg Mountain

You start your ramble with a pleasant trip by cable car to the summit of Bocksberg Mountain where this circular trail starts. Once you have reached the top of the mountain, firstly enjoy the view over Hahnenklee and the surrounding countryside before you start your descent down Bocksberg Mountain. Once you are half way down, your descent brings you to a fork in the path. Take a sharp left turn here and you will shortly arrive at the “oberer Auenhahnweg”. Then follow this path until Auerhahn. Now cross a small meadow until, having already walked 1.6 km, you arrive at the start of “Alte Harzstrasse”. This will bring you back to Bocksberg Mountain, the steepest and most strenuous part of the trail. When you have returned again to Bocksberg Mountain, the Bocksberg Mountain Cabin is the ideal spot for a snack or a full meal. You can then easily return to Hahnenklee with no effort at all by cable car.

Circular Ramble  Bockswiese - Eselsberg - Grumbacher Pond - Auerhahn - Bockswiese

The starting point for the circular trail around the Auerhahn is the car park on the through road in Bockswiese. Cross the road with care and go on to the other side of the road on to Erzweg. Now follow the dedicated rambling trail to Eselsberg. There, keep left and follow Rückenweg, which later becomes “Kreuzeck“ dedicated rambling trail. Past the camp site, proceed along the new Grumbacher Pond on the left-hand side and shortly afterwards the Auerhahn Pond on the right-hand side. Now you are on the way to Auerhahn Tavern, which is a pleasant place for a brief rest. Once you have rested awhile, continue on the upper Auerhahnweg. When you reach a fork in the road, keep left in the direction of Thanteich/Bockswiese. Via Birkenweg you will return to your starting point, the car park in Bockswiese.
